Kellen Dorner earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Originally from Sun Prairie, Mr. Dorner is an accomplished woodwind player and jazz educator. Mr. Dorner's teaching responsibilities include conducting the 7th Grade Band, leading the Tuesday Jazz Ensemble (our most advanced jazz group), the Friday Jazz Ensemble, co-teaching the Middle School Jazz Ensemble, and assisting with Concert Band and Symphonic Band rehearsals. Beyond his teaching duties at Mount Horeb, Mr. Dorner is active as a performer and is a Section Coach for the Wisconsin Middle Level Honors Band.
Will Janssen earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a Master's degree from National University. Mr. Janssen is Director of Bands at the high school and as such conducts all concert bands, the marching and athletic bands, the Thursday Jazz Ensemble and the Early American Jazz Ensemble. Outside of school, he is a Regional Vice President for the Wisconsin Music Educators Association, is active as an adjudicator and clinician for the Wisconsin School Music Association, and has served as Chair of the Wisconsin Honors Music Project.
Alyssa Thuli earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Originally from Dodgeville, Ms. Thuli is a double reed specialist with extensive performance credits in the Madison area. Her teaching duties include conducting the 6th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, assisting with 7th Grade Band, co-teaching the middle school jazz ensemble and providing specialist support to high school performers.
