Maintaining its real-world focus, this one-year course is designed for both college-bound and for career and technical education students. This course is a continuation of the beginning-level course and a must for those students starting their own business or majoring in business at the college level. Students become proficient in using accounting software and in applying their skills in a merchandising business. Notes, inventory management, plat assets, long-term liabilities, common and preferred stock, horizontal and vertical analysis, partnerships, and departmental and branch accounting are some of the topics covered. Successful completion of this course may earn advanced standing in business programs at Madison College. The link below titled CourseSites is where the students will access all of their assignments. CourseSites is an online platform that enables teachers to set up Web-based class sites where they can post course materials, communicate with students, encourage collaboration, monitor performance, and manage grades.
