Social Emotional Learning at the IC
At the Mt. Horeb Intermediate Center, we are committed to creating safe and inclusive communities for all students, staff and families. We know that school is more than learning academics. We believe that just as we can teach academics, we can teach social and emotional learning and positive behaviors. Students will explore these topics in their daily Morning Meetings and Guidance classes as well as integrated into their day-to-day learning. We use curriculum from Second Step and Welcoming Schools to facilitate learning and acceptance of our entire school community. Our staff works together as a team to support all students' academic, career, and personal/social skills so they can thrive in and outside of the classroom.
