Family Learning Series

Our Family Learning Series, developed as part of the district's Human Growth & Development Plan, provides parents, guardians, and caregivers with the tools and knowledge to become more involved in their children's academic, social, emotional, and mental health development.  We are pleased to be able to offer these learning opportunities for the benefit of our families and the greater community.

Digital Citizenship and Addressing Bullying in Our Schools

November 29, 2023 @ 6:00 PM in the High School Cafeteria | Presented by School Resource Officer Steve Rosemeyer and our district's library media specialists, Gretchen Malin, Angie Brauns, Jacci Baker, and Kim Hillary
This session is aimed at providing you with the tools and knowledge to ensure social media safety for students and adults alike. In addition, participants will learn how the district educates students in addressing bullying, harassment, and intimidation. This program is developed as part of the district's Human Growth and Development Plan, emphasizing the importance of parents and guardians in their students' academic, social, emotional, and mental health development. Mount Horeb Area School District is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students, and we believe that equipping parents, guardians, and the community with the necessary knowledge and tools in crucial in achieving this goal. Together, we can create a positive online experience for our students and promote responsibility.

Cultural Potluck and Inclusion Workshop

March 6, 2024 @ 6:00 PM in the High School Cafeteria | Presented by Director of Instruction Sarah Straka, Director of Student Services Brian Johnson, Resource Development and Public Relations Coordinator Aubree Hanks, as well as kindergarten teacher Kirk Nichols, second-grade teacher Hannah Severson, second-grade teacher Melissa Olmsted, fourth-grade teacher Annie Beier, seventh-grade teacher Theresa Buechner, and high school art teacher Anna King.
This session is aimed at providing you with knowledge regarding how the District bakes inclusivity into the classroom as well as a look at the data collected from the Pupil Non-Discrimination Report. Inclusion refers to how individuals experiences their environment and the degree to which we embrace those around us and enable them to make meaningful contributions. Presentation
