Visit Our Schools

*Important: Some visits require both Visitor Aware and a completed background check form. Visitor Aware manages check-in and identification. The background check determines eligibility for direct student contact. Completing one does not replace the other.
More Information
As part of the District's commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment and in accordance with state requirements, all volunteers are asked to familiarize themselves with Policies 515 and 515A: Staff/Volunteer-Student Communications and Boundaries before volunteering in our schools. Beginning fall 2026, volunteers will see an acknowledgment of these policies when signing in through our visitor management system, Visitor Aware, and background check form. We appreciate our volunteers partnering with us to help maintain safe, appropriate, and professional interactions with students. Additional resources are available for volunteers who would like more detailed information on the WI Department of Public Instruction website.
The safety of our students and staff is among our primary responsibilities. We consistently seek ways of improving our processes. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, the Mount Horeb Area School District implemented a new visitor management system, Visitor Aware, in addition to the robust criminal background check we already employ.
We’re grateful for your partnership in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment in our schools. By working together, we can ensure that every visit — whether for learning or fun — is secure, efficient, and positive.
