Visit Our Schools

Step 1: Before Your Visit (All Visitors)

1. Though not required, you can save time by signing up for Visitor Aware before you arrive. Simply, take your photo, enter your Information, and select which schools your student(s) attend. We’ve also crafted these instructions with images to help guide you.
2. If you’ll be participating in one-on-one visits with students, please also complete this security form. Processing may take up to five business days. 

Step 2: When You Arrive

1. Check in at the main office using the Visitor Aware iPad kiosk.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your government-issued ID.
3. Complete the check-in process and, when approved, receive your visitor badge.

We understand privacy is important. Visitor Aware was chosen not only for its safety features but also for its strong commitment to data protection:

• All data is encrypted and stored securely off-site — never on the device.
• Facial recognition is used only for verification during check-in, not for surveillance or ongoing monitoring.
• The system complies with all relevant privacy laws and district policies.

One time between July 1 and June 30, annually. During that one-year period, all you have to do is complete the facial recognition process in the Main Office (or use the QR code provided to those who pre-register) and collect the badge that will print off for you as you enter the Main Office.

No, given the lack of available staff during the evenings/weekends. 

It depends on what part of the building the event is held in and if there are cordoned-off access points from the school’s main population. For example, events at the High School’s auditorium, during the school day, do not need either system because it is enclosed from the rest of the population; however, events at the Middle School Step Room may require a background check to be completed. Communication will occur with parents in the days leading up to the event so that grandparents and other visitors from outside the community can be notified.

Visitor Aware has been purchased for our 4K partner sites during the first three years of implementation. As these are independent entities, please speak with each program leader to determine how they plan to implement it, given their unique needs and programs.
